I live in North Wales and moved here to live between the beautiful, wild and rugged mountains and the sea, with its endless sandy beaches and rocky coves. It's a big change and hard work, but I love it up here, and I want to tell the world about this magical corner of North Wales. I really enjoy sharing the gorgeous holiday cottage I have created in Harlech, enabling people to have a lovely holiday in a welcoming and relaxing space. You will be able to contact me by mobile phone or email before and during your stay and I'm happy to answer questions and make recommendations.
The cottage is right in the centre of the beautiful historic castle town of Harlech with several lovely cafes, a very good grocers and ice cream shop just on the corner below the house, a great pub the Lion, and lovely restaurant Castle Cottage just a few metres from the house, as well as a great fish n chip shop and a couple of pubs at the bottom of the hill. Harlech Castle, Castle cafe and childrens playground - 100m. The Royal St David's golf course, Harlech - 1/2 mile. Harlech & Ardudwy Leisure swimming pool and climbing wall - 1/2mile. Harlech beach - 1 mile. It is a 10 min walk over the sand dunes to the beach from the car park. They are all close enough to walk or drive & park, with car parks available at all of these places. Llandanwg beach, Llandanwg - 2 miles. There is a car park with cafe & toilets right next to the beach Llanfair slate caverns and farm park, Llanfair - 2 miles. Portmeirion, Minffordd - 8 miles. Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland steam railways, Porthmadog - 9 miles. It's the perfect home from home base from which to explore this magical part of North Wales, with its gorgeous coast, fantastic beaches, majestic mountains including Snowdon of course, historic towns and picture book castles. And there's plenty to do in the area with Portmeirion and several steam railways within 20minutes drive, and loads of adventure activities including ZipWorld, Coed y Brenin mountain bike centre, Go Below mine adventures & Surf Snowdonia all within 40 minutes drive. Harlech is a lovely friendly little town in the most incredible location overlooking the picture perfect Norman Harlech castle, the stunning and endless sandy Harlech beach and the beautiful skyline of the Llyn peninsula beyond, as well as having a clear view to the north of the wild and rugged mountains of central Snowdonia, including Snowdon itself.
