Jasmine Place is a Grade II listed cottage, circa 1650, that looks out on one of the UK’s largest greens. Centrally located, it is only a few minutes from the train station, shops, pub and restaurant. Its character is in keeping with its age, with inglenook fireplaces and a multitude of exposed beams. Your luxury experience begins as you arrive at the entrance hall with it's huge inglenook fireplace and this is where your breakfast is served with a selection of croissants, pastries, yogurts, fresh local fruit, choice of cereals, toast with local jams and a range of teas and filter coffee. Your cooked order includes the 'Full Bentley' with either grilled haloumi cheese or meat from our local butchers and is served in your private lounge. This has a sofa bed, flat screen tv, tea/coffee making facilities, choice of magazines and board games. The luxurious bathroom has a wet room shower, Spa bath and Molton Brown toiletries. Your first floor bedroom accessed by a quirky stair case has exposed beams and original stained floors as well as monogrammed bath robes and a beautiful chandelier taking centre stage over the bed. Included are complimentary home cooked biscuits or fudge.
Jasmine Place is located next door to the cricket club, a white cottage. The village of Great Bentley boasts several shops for most needs including a Tesco Express, as well as a hairdresser, primary school, family run butchers, public house, restaurant and doctors surgery. There is a convenient hourly bus service to Colchester whilst trains run regularly from the village station to Colchester and beyond to London’s Liverpool Street. Brightlingsea is approximately 5 miles distance giving access to the Essex coastline for the sailing enthusiast, Dedham is only 10 miles nestled within Constable Country and Clacton on Sea is 9 miles away with its pier and beaches. Lying approximately 9 miles to the west, Colchester’s town centre is surrounded by its roman walls and is steeped in history, including its Norman castle. The town centre also has its own multi-screen cinema, the Mercury Theatre and the Firstsite Art Gallery. Manningtree lies approximately 8 miles to the north on the banks of the River Stour and is next to Mistley and its famous Towers, along with the Witchfinder General, which is well worth a visit.
