Welcome to our listing. We purchased St Marys Church in December to convert into a luxury 2 bedroom holiday home. The work started mid December and our first guests checked in on the 11th June 2021. The church was built in 1894 as part of Hexham Abbey and was last used as a place of worship in 2003 and has stood empty since then. It had 2 en-suite bedrooms with the master having a king size bed and a freestanding bath in the room. The 2nd bedroom has twin beds that can of course be pushed together. Downstairs is open plan with all home comforts and a wonderful patio with 180 degree countryside views. To the side of the patio is our luxury hot tub. We have a small paddock too and private parking too. Please check out our Facebook page (The Tiny Chapel) and you can book direct at www.tinychapel .co.uk for best rates. Our location in Lowgate is perfect to explore many areas and we are only 2 miles outside Hexham on a bus route too. Thank you Steve & Anne
We recently sold a local caravan park and decided to purchase St Marys to renovate. We are a husband and wife team and pride ourselves on quality and friendliness. Thank you.
We are located just two miles outside the historic market town of Hexham in the beautiful county of Northumberland. Our county really does have something for everyone, from wonderful countryside to outstanding coastlines and a gold tier dark sky park to boot. If hiking is your thing then our cosy chapel is the perfect base to explore the breaktaking and dramatic landscape of Hadrians Wall country and whether you decide to take on the whole 86 miles National Trail or decide to enjoy days out at our many forts, museums and visitor centres, the 2000 year old history of the Roman Empire is waiting to be explored. Hexham itself is a quaint little market town which was voted the happiest place to live in 2019 and is home to the spectacular Hexham Abbey which is one of the earliest seats of Christianity in England with a church at this site for more than 1300 years. The weekly farmers market in the square hosts an array of locally produced foodie treats and artisan gifts and is the perfect spot to pick up some essentials before heading to the sele park for an impromptu picnic. A trip to one of the local inns should be on the list too to enjoy locally brewed real ales and wines.
