On the south coast of Crete, about 30 km from Rethymno, our family residence is built on a hill just outside the traditional village of Mariou. With a splendid open view towards the Plakia and Damnoni Bays and the southern Cretan Sea, Arodamos Residence Mariou is the perfect place where the quietness of the scenery and the fully equipped residence with a private veranda becomes the ideal home for you to enjoy a unique holiday experience.
Traditional design blends with a natural approach in a harmonious environment of the Cretan nature. The residence’s expansive veranda has every feature to keep any escapist relaxed and entertained; large open spaces and a handmade monastery table for an outdoor dining experience. Enjoy the tranquil atmosphere and the open view of the southern Cretan Sea and surrender yourself to the Cretan hospitality.

A few minutes’ walk from the residence you will find the Mariou village, where you encounter the simple life of locals, traditional taverns and authentic coffee houses. You can drive down less than 5 minutes to Plakias Village, one of the most picturesque seaside villages of Crete´s South coast with many beachfront restaurants & cafes and surrounded by fantastic small hidden bays. Damnoni Beach is also located less than 5 km from our residence, having a relatively long beach with gorgeous turquoise waters and fine golden sand. 10km east, the Beach of Preveli, also known as Lake Preveli or Palm-Forest Preveli, is certainly one of the most famous beaches in Crete, where you can walk along the river, under the shade of palm trees. Mariou Village is also 30 km southeast of Rethymno Town and should have a drive time of 40 minutes in normal traffic, passing also through the narrow road in the heart of the Kourtaliotiko gorge, is one of the most beautiful gorges of Crete.
