If you are looking for a place to relax & enjoy the beauties of nature, then Kalendes is for you! You will be provided with all the needed information prior to your arrival. Καλένδες/ Kalendae “Kalendes” is an ambiguous word. Kalendes (Latin: kalendae) is the first day of every month in the Roman calendar. The English word "calendar" is derived from this word. However, Kalendes was a feature of the Roman calendar, but it was not included in the Greek calendar. Consequently, to postpone something ad Kalendas Graecas ("until the Greek calends") was a colloquial expression for postponing something forever. This phrase survived for many centuries in Greek (Greek: εἰς τὰς ἑλληνικάς καλένδας). Januarys Kalendes friends and family were celebrating and exchanging gifts called “strena” (honey, dried figs, and dates. We wish you a pleasant stay that will make you want to postpone it forever!
Kalendes is 1 km away from "Aegeopelagitika" beach which is the longest in length and width, but also the most well-known to the public. It is sandy with characteristic blue waters. 20 km afar from Kalendes you can also enjoy Agias Paraskevis Thermal Springs, overlooking the Aegean Sea. Kalendes is located 3 km from Poseidi Village. In a very small distance, you can find food market, pharmacy, local taverns, and idyllic sceneries. A private parking area is available. You will be provided with all the needed information prior to your arrival but we will be happy to answer any of your possible questions and suggest you places and activities if you wish!
