This is the small, traditional house of my grandparents.Recently, we lovingly renovated it, adding color and a fresh spirit, turning it into a peaceful and welcoming retreat—perfect for those seeking rest and a genuine connection with the Cretan nature and tradition.The accommodation consists of the Katofigi studio on the ground floor and the Katofigi Upstairs on the first floor, which features a balcony.
The village of Agios Georgios Sitia, formerly known as Tourtouloi, is nestled in a lush setting between Sitia and Makry Gialos. The area is rich in history, featuring archaeological findings such as Minoan and Geometric period cemeteries, as well as a Minoan villa on the hill of Prophet Elias. In 1957, the village was renamed Agios Georgios, taking its name from the central church. Today, it offers an authentic experience of the Cretan countryside. It’s wonderful to take a walk through the greenery, grab a coffee, and relax at the square of “Flega.”
