Property information
Verde Azur is in a prime position to make the most of everything this appealing area has to offer. Recently built in a quite remarkable, elevated location, crisp clean lines and fresh minimalist styling are the hallmarks of this striking, contemporary property.
The sea is an integral part of life on any Greek island and this is certainly no exception at Verde Azur where the glittering Ionian can be fully admired from numerous vantage points inside and out.
We feel the word ‘magnificent’ barely does justice to the sweeping seascape on offer from the infinity pool, adjacent terraces and panoramic windows in both living areas, let alone the first floor balconies where the sea, less than 20m away from the foot of the property’s sloping driveway, inevitably becomes a seamless part of your holiday.
Vying for attention in addition to the wonderful private swimming pool, a small strip of shingle beach directly opposite Verde Azur provides easy access into the turquoise waters of the bay - an invigorating morning dip anyone?
Neighbourhood information
Gorgeous sea views across the Ionian channel border the quiet coastal lane that gently winds its way past the little fishing village of Petriti to Boukari, a sleepy coastal hamlet with a narrow beach of smooth pebbles and shallow, azure waters. Running southwards from Messonghi this peaceful stretch of olive tree-clad coastline is dotted with a variety of family run tavernas, widely recognised for serving some of the tastiest seafood dishes on Corfu.
A further highlight of this enviable location is being spoilt for choice at mealtimes with several tavernas, many highly recommended by the locals, just a short distance from the house. Two of the most well known and respected eateries on the island, Fisherman’s Haunt and Boukari Fish Taverna are just 1km and 500m away respectively. Even closer to home the Akrogiali and Potomaki tavernas are both about 100m away.
Home to all amenities (as well as a long sandy beach with seasonal watersports), vibrant Messonghi is a 12 minute drive yet seems a world away from the laid back, calming environs of Verde Azur.
There are not many such places left but Boukari is definitely one of Corfu’s best kept secrets.
