As for attractions, I would recommend, in no particular order, Merrion Square and the Oscar Wilde statue and his childhood home, Stephen's Green and its shopping centre, with excellent fries at Rockets, Grafton Street, Trinity College and the Book of Kells, the Stags Head pub, Temple Bar, bars with Irish music, the lively Dublin North at O'Connell, the Guiness Storehouse with a pint of the best Irish Guiness at the end, Bray, the Finbees, the cliff walk between Bray and Greystones (using the DART train), and a little further afield, Powerscourt and Glendalough are great places to visit.
