At the Roost we hope all our guests take as much delight in this special property as we do. Due to the nature of the house we are delighted to have people who come and take the time to slow down and enjoy the atmosphere of the house. As hosts, we hope guests get to enjoy a slower more sustainable way of travelling by staying at The Roost, with an emphases on longer stays to really get to know the area. We are as available as you need or want us to be. Both of us have good local knowledge of the area and are always happy to answer questions or advise on day trips, restaurants and any general questions.

At the Roost you will find a beautiful old house that is a mixture of old and new. The main house sleeps up to 14. The Garden Shed is located at the bottom of the garden and sleeps two and The Cart house is lcoated in the yard along the river and sleeps two, both perfect for couples or singles. The style of the house is old and charming The garden shed and The cart house are more modern, with super comfy beds, interesting artwork, birch ply kitchens, cosy couches and Robert bluetooth speakers and radio, with smart TV's The entire property can be rented as a whole or each can be rented out separately. The large garden is a perfect place to spend time with family and friends sitting out on the patio in mornings over coffee. The house offers families and friends time to slow down and catch up, each bedroom is ensuite, with very comfortable beds to snuggle down after a days adventures, the sitting rooms are also a perfect place to chill out with a book and a cup of tea, or gin and tonic time before dinner. You can ask us for catering options and hold your own cozy, dinner party with your friends and family, have a little celebration and make great memories in a wonderful home...

The Roost is a perfect place to slow down and explore beautiful Mayo in the West of Ireland. It is on the doorstep of stunning Connemara, ideal for exploring the Islands, Clare Island, Inishturk and Achill Island. There our lots of places to hike most famously Croagh Patrick but also the Bangor Trail, Nephin, and Achill. We are surrounded by beautiful beaches so each day you can explore somewhere different.
