A lakeside cabin at the foot of Medalfell mountain with direct access to the lake. A peaceful place with a beautiful view over the lake where you can relax to the gentle sounds of the water. The surrounding area is full of nature and a good starting point for little hikes. Good location for day trips to Snæfellsnes and the Golden Circle. During the winter time is a good chance of seeing the Northern lights (Aurora Borealis). The cabin comes with a garden and a terrace with a barbeque. It includes a private bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, two TV’s and free wifi. There is no owen to bake but there is a barbeque and a hob. Refrigerator, dishwasher, toaster and all utensils to eat and drink. Nespresso coffee machine (we have a few capsules for your stay but feel free to bring your own). Towels and bedlinen provided. No extra fee. The cabin (37 fm2) is perfect for couples, singles, business travellers, families or groups of 2-4 people travelling together. Make sure you go to the grocery store before arriving at the cabin. The closest grocery stores are located in Mosfellsbær. Their name is Bónus and Krónan.

No public transportation in the area. Þingvellir (Thingvellir) National park is 30 min drive away. Follow road 461 by Meðalfellsvatn lake to its end where it meets road 48. You take road 48 to the right in direction to Þingvellir. After 10-15 min drive there is a beautiful waterfall to the left called Þórufoss (Thorufoss). For those who love Game of Thrones, this waterfall was one of the icelandic locations used on the show. Glymur, highest waterfall in Iceland. Drive along Hvalfjardarvegur, road 47. It’s great to go on a day trip and drive around Snæfellsnes peninsula. Laugarvatn Fontana Geotermal Spa, ca 55 min drive. Brautarholt golf club.
