The family-owned Hótel Lækur is set on an Icelandic horse farm, between the Golden Circle and the south coast. Hella is 10 minutes’ drive away. It offers a sun terrace and a guest lounge.
The bright, modern rooms feature wooden floors and private bathrooms. Some include either a terrace or balcony. The surrounding views take in the Hekla and Eyjafjallajökull volcanoes.
A simple à la carte menu is available in Lækur Hótel’s summer restaurant. Meals during the winter can be ordered in advance. Guests may be lucky enough to experience the Northern Lights during their stay.
Seljalandsfoss Waterfall is within 25 minutes’ drive, while Skógafoss Waterfall is a further 20 minutes away. Reykjavík is 62 mi from Hótel Lækur.
