Heidi Guesthouse was built in 1955 by the host's father. It has since been changed into a guesthouse but it stays true to the warm and happy farmer family's home. It's located on an actual working farm. It's quite spacious, especially the common areas, but the rooms differ in sizes (and therefor prices) as they were originally made for different sized children. Heidi was withstood the test of time and proven to be a welcoming home to whoever may enter.
I am a farmer who has a passion for tourism. I originally opened Við Faxa, a restaurant located at Faxi waterfall nearby. There I got immense joy from meeting people from all over the world and hearing their stories. I wanted to do what I could to make people's stay in Iceland enjoyable, be a part of a happy memory!
Much like the house, the surrounding area is wonderful. You're free to roam on the farm and visit the animals. All around you are fields which you can go on. If you want to stay closer to home there is a big garden as well as a patio in front.
Heidi Guesthouse is located in the Golden Circle. That means you have all the biggest attractions practically in your backyard. Faxi waterfall and our restaurant is only 2 minutes away by car, Geysir 7 minutes away and Gullfoss about 15 minutes away. Þingvellir National Park is close by aswell.
