Montefalco, with its beautiful old town and art treasures, is officially one of the most beautiful medieval cities in Italy (I borghi piu belli d’Italia). Because of its altitude and the many viewpoints that offer a wonderful view of the surroundings, Montefalco is also called "the balcony of Umbria". The town is an excellent starting point to explore the other natural beauties, small and large towns and the wine cellars of the area. In addition to the traditional textile production, Montefalco has become the gastronomic center of the region with many excellent restaurants, some of them offer outstanding Italian cuisine. In the surrounding hills, not only best olive oil but also Sagrantino wine, which is known beyond the region, is grown.
