Steinsvik Fjordhytter is a small, family-run company founded in 1993. It is now run by the 2nd generation in the family.
We will come and greet you and answer any questions you might have about the cabin and the area.
We live close by and are available on phone 24/7 if you need anything. We are glad to show you the local attractions, help you plan road trips and give you information about the area and Norway. Otherwise, we'll leave you alone to relax during your stay.
宿泊施設の情報
Escape the tourist crowds! This cabin is perfect for a peaceful vacation with the family or a fishing trip with your friends.
There's plenty of space to relax - indoors and outdoors, or even in the small annex with heat lamps, fireplace and panoramic view of the fjord and village.
From the woodfired hottub on the terrace, you can enjoy the view of the fjord all seasons of the year.
Down by the sea you'll find Steinsvik Fjordhytter's private marina with floating pontoons and a small house for cleaning the catch of the day.
In the spring, summer and fall, it's also possible to rent a 17 foot boat with a 40 hp outboard engine and a fish-finder. Gasoline is not included, but can be provided.
Both cabins have a fully equipped kitchen, but consumables are not included. There is a basic supply of toilet paper, soap, coffee capsules, etc., but if you are staying for a week or more, you should bring more of this.
We provide dishwashing capsules and trash bags free of charge. Let us know if you run out.
Most guests bring their own bed linens and towels, but you can rent these from us for an additional fee (150,- NOK per set).
If you want to use the fireplace, we can sell you bags of firewood at a reasonable price.
周辺エリアの情報
Steinsvik and nearby Åmelfot is a quiet place, surrounded by steep mountains on three sides. Here lives a handful of residents all year round. Many of them work at the local fish farm.
Once settled in, you can explore the village freely. All roads are open for public. Just ask the hosts or one of the locals, and they'll gladly show you the directions around Steinsvik and Åmelfot. There's also a steep road leading up to the mountain (about 600 meters above sea level), where there are several locally owned cottages and possibility for walking trips.
If you want to take a short walk nearby, you can walk around Vassbakkane (gravel path) or up to Kloppa and Nobba (forest path).
In the summer we recommend a hike to Galten and Kornbergveten near Folkestad. From there you have a panoramic view of the entire region.
Ask us, and we will give you directions and tips on where to go.
We have plenty of parking spaces in front of both cabins. Unfortunately, there is no longer any public transport to and from Steinsvik.
During the summer, we can pick you up in Folkestad if you manage to get there yourself. It is a short ferry ride from Volda, the largest village nearby.
You can take a bus to Volda from both Bergen and Oslo.
There is also a small airport in Ørsta (HOV) operated by Widerøe, with connections to and from Oslo (OSL), Bergen (BGO) and Sogndal (SOG).
There are a few small grocery stores (Coop Marked) in Lauvstad and Folkestad, at both ends of the fjord.
If you want a bigger selection and more shops, you will either need to take the ferry from Folkestad or drive to Nordfjordeid.
