In addition to clean and comfortable rooms, we have all the amenities you are looking for: 24/7 hot water, high speed and reliable internet (upgraded in March 2020), on-site restaurant, a rooftop bar with the best view on the Stupa and surrounding neighbourhood, a flourished and peaceful garden, secured facilities and many more. The newly opened Akong Rinpoche Memorial Center has received a Swiss award for its seismic-resistant design. We will gladly help you during your stay with us, whether you are looking for recommendations for restaurants or attractions, or trying to book a bus for your next destination.
When you stay with us, you provide vital support to ROKPA, an international NGO. ROKPA provides life support to destitute, with a focus on living needs, medical assistance and education. A few of the projects are conducted on site, such as the Women’s Workshop, and the Hospitality Vocational Training. We started the Hospitality Training in 2018 in partnership with EHLsmile from the Lausanne Hotel School in Switzerland; we provide a 1-year training to underprivileged youth to give them the first step toward building a career and being self-sufficient, all done under the supervision of qualified professionals. Adjacent to the Guest House is the ROKPA Children’s Home where former street urchin can find a new home. All the profits generated by your stay go toward funding said projects. We act as an accountable social business.
Our Guest House is located in the sacred lands of Boudhanath, only 3 minutes by walk from the Stupa (holiest shrine for Tibetan Buddhist) and 20 minutes by walk from Pashupatinath (holiest temple for Hindus). We are surrounded by important Buddhist temples, such as the White Gumpa, the Shechen Gumpa, and many more. It is easy to travel within the Kathmandu Valley from our Guest House, as we are located near major roads, but secluded enough that our surroundings are peaceful. We look forward to welcoming you!
