Arthouse Botanic Lake Tekapo's most contemporary home where the building is an art work in itself. Fastidiously restored. Plantation shutters filter the beautiful alpine light into each space. Please note, unfortunately the Arthouse is not suitable for children under 12 years of age.

Due to limited dining options, we suggest booking in advance for evening dining. Tekapo is an International Dark Sky Reserve and is great for looking at the stars. The night tour options are in the ACTIVITIES tab under STARGAZING. Roundhill Ski area is just a quick 35 minute drive from the Tekapo village. For great family skiing and the most amazing view from the cafe, it is well worth the drive. The season kicks off 2nd July to 19th September subject to snowfall. We can also recommend a massage at Tekapo Springs Glacial Day Spa. If this is of interest, you can book online in advance. There are also great walking and bike riding trail options. Some of these start right in town and offer great photo opportunities. Horse Trekking is available in Tekapo.
