Your hosts, Shami, Dave and 2 cats, "Lucky" the maitre d and "Blanca" the Queen. Shami & Dave are a married couple who have lived in Rotorua for over 16 years. They balanced their time between NZ and California (USA). Both are passionate about meeting and hosting people. They have six children and thirteen grandchildren spread across the globe, and really enjoy travelling abroad whenever they get the chance. Shami loves cooking. If you are fortunate enough to book an evening meal with Shami, you are in for a gourmet delight served with a glass of their finest wine. Shami's Mediterranean breakfasts served every morning are legendary and included, but Shami also offers a famous homestyle cooked breakfast at an extra cost. Other meals including fine dining can be available on request. Dave loves a good chat. He knows Rotorua like the back of his hand and works in tourism, so if you are wanting to know the best things to do, he would be more than happy to provide recommendations. ​ "Lucky" the Maitre D is very friendly and engaging and will on most occasions meet and greet guests. If there is anything you need to know just ask Lucky. "Blanca" She just looks pretty and is the Queen. no more needs to be said.

Neighbourhood information

Tihiotonga (translation = lookout hill) suburb while close to town has an great overview of Rotorua. It is placed on the Rotorua Caldera rim. It has panoramic views of the town, lake and Geysers, while having a 40 acre Tihiotonga Tree Reserve for waking and leisure. The Geyser Lookout Home-stay backs on to this reserve.
