You hosts are Jenny and Tony who are experienced hosts (having had previous properties) who wish to make your stay as warm and welcoming as possible.
As Kiwiblue is located in the "Golden Triangle" of Kerikeri you have the advantages of being close to everything without the hum of traffic. Enjoy the gentle rhythm of the countryside and don't be surprised if you see Tui, Kereru, Pheasant, Quail or Rabbit in the garden.
Walk or drive to Kerikeri township, a flat 1.5 km away or alternatively take the easy downhill Pa Road trail through to the historic Stone Store, approximately 1.3 km away where the Plough and Feather gastro pub, Honey Cafe and garden await. A central location for many popular walks such as Rainbow Falls. The Stone Store location and wharf gives the option to canoe and SUP board to the Landing or travel further out and along the coast to Opito Bay by road. Access is also available for SUP boards or canoes just at the end of Pa rd.
Enjoy Marsden Estate and Sovrano Winery for food, wine and the ambience that is on offer. Visit Manuwai Reservoir for a swim or picnic or visit the popular French patisserie. Take a trip to Taupo Bay, Matauri Bay and any number of beautiful beaches. Mangonui, a picturesque township with excellent cafes, shops, and art studio in the old courthouse.
It is only a 25 minute trip to Paihia, Waitangi Treaty grounds and an array of cafes and Zane Greys Restaurant on the wharf. Stay here for the day or catch the ferry to historic Russell (the site of NZ's first Capital) Alternatively take the car ferry from Opua a short distance down the coast. Sit at the Waterfront enjoy the cafes or the well-known Duke of Marlborough for a meal or quiet drink, or, just take a swim before you venture back to Kerikeri.
Don't forget the Packhouse Market in Kerikeri on Saturday or Sunday for an excellent farmers market. Renowned for the best cheese scones North of Auckland. Enjoy breakfast at the Rusty Tractor, Redwoods Garden Centre or many cafes in town. In the summer enjoy the Berry farm and Kainui estate. Visit the Parrot House or just enjoy the numerous walks available to the public.
