Steve and I are retired Dairy Farmers. We love to travel and spend time with family and friends. We're here to make your trip as special as we possibly can. Meeting new people is heart warming and being able to provide a unique and comfortable experience for you is even more so. We do what we do because we genuinely enjoy it. We can be as involved as our guests want, happily stepping back to give you your privacy as well as interacting over a cuppa and some local knowledge if required. Nothing is too much trouble.

Windhaven is a beautiful Homestead built in 1908. We have lovingly restored it to depict it's original beauty along with adding all of today's comforts. We have three beautiful bedrooms, as well as a studio unit, all unique and stunningly decorated with top quality furnishings and fittings to ensure you a magical nights sleep. Our guest bathroom is large with underfloor heating, along with a beautiful deep claw foot bath to soak away the day, or should you prefer a separate shower. Our studio unit has bathroom facilities approximately 2 metres away. Your private lounge is comfortable with recliner leather chairs, a warming fire when required or on a beautiful summer's day doors opening onto your private patio with the colourful garden as your backdrop. Our Studio Unit has it's own private lounge along with a small kitchen. It is about 4 metres from the house. The A2O Cycle trail is at our front gate, just ride on in! Breakfast is served at a time to suit you, along with choices in accordance to your preferences, both hot and cold. An evening meal can also be arranged prior to your arrival. Parking is on site and Free!!

We are between Duntroon and Kurow and the A2O Cycle path passes our door. Many cyclists chose a night at Windhaven, relaxing with a good local wine, dinner and to top the night a massage before bed. We are surrounded by beautiful rolling hills with the Waitaki River behind us. We have many attractions nearby, including Elephant Rocks, Maori Rock Drawings, Walking Trails, Lakes, Fishing. Mt Cook, Wanaka and Dunedin are all an easy 2 hour drive, making a day trip an easy option, with dinner and/or a massage awaiting you on your return. Kurow boasts some lovely Cafes and 2 Pubs. As well we have a fabulous Winery just down the road. Oamaru is only 35 minutes away with more Cafes and Restaurants. Oamaru is on the Sea and is famous for it's old Victorian sector, a must see. It also has an amazing penguin colony and a Steampunk Museum.
