Casa de Mono is a privately owned family business run by Cassandra, Eve, and Wayne—a South African trio who fell in love with the raw beauty, warm people, and wild nature of Bocas del Toro. What started as a dream born from years of travel has grown into a place we now get to share with others from around the world.
We believe that travel is about connection—connection to nature, to new cultures, and to yourself. We've taken inspiration from the many places we've visited, weaving together thoughtful design, personal touches, and practical comforts to create a home-away-from-home that still feels wild and full of wonder. Casa de Mono reflects our love of hosting and our passion for helping people slow down, tune in, and truly experience the magic of this island.
Whether you're here to surf the breaks, explore the jungle, unwind in a hammock, or enjoy fresh seafood by the sea, we’re here to help you make the most of every moment. From custom recommendations to organizing tours with trusted local guides, we love nothing more than sharing our favourite spots, helping guests get off the beaten track, and seeing the island through your eyes.
Although we don’t live on the property, we’re nearby in Playa Bluff and always available if you need anything. You may spot us around the garden or popping by to check in, and on occasion, you might meet our daughter Luna—our curious, jungle-loving little explorer who’s often barefoot and full of questions..
Our greatest joy is watching people fall in love with Bocas just like we did. We can’t wait to welcome you.
With love,
Cassandra, Eve & Wayne

周辺エリアの情報
Casa de Mono is located in Big Creek, one of Bocas del Toro’s most sought-after areas—peaceful, scenic, and ideally positioned between the vibrant heart of Bocas Town and the wild, surf-rich stretch of Bluff Beach. Whether you’re craving beach days, jungle walks, or delicious island eats, it’s all just steps away.
The villa sits just 80 meters from the shoreline, where a quiet reef cove offers calm waters perfect for a quick dip, snorkelling, or enjoying your morning coffee with your feet in the water. The sheltered bay is ideal for children and adults alike—wave-free and tucked away from the bustle. For surfers, the island’s most famous breaks, Tiger Tail and Paunch, are just a short walk away. You’ll often find guests strolling down the road with boards under arm, heading out for a sunrise session or sunset paddle.
When it comes to food, drinks, and sunset views—you're spoiled for choice. Right across the road is Skully’s, a lively beachfront hangout with four different restaurants and a bar set around a pirate-themed pool and sea view deck. Next door is Ciao Pizza, serving up wood-fired pies in a cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Just a few minutes' walk down the road, you’ll find Dosha Café with healthy organic breakfast options, smoothies, and great coffee. And a scenic 5-minute walk takes you to Ohana, a beloved beach bar and restaurant located right at Tiger Tail surf break.
A local minimarket is nearby for basics, and taxis or rental bikes make it easy to get around. The center of Bocas Town—where you’ll find the airport, water taxis, markets, and nightlife—is just a 10-minute drive away, and the main road from town passes right by our front gate.
Big Creek offers the best of both worlds: close enough to town to enjoy convenience, but far enough away to feel immersed in nature. With beaches, jungle, waves, and fresh coconuts all within walking distance, it’s the perfect base for your Bocas adventure.
