The Apitherapeutic Beehive offers an opportunity to rest, relax and disconnect from everyday stressful situations, when the buzzing of the bees and the sight of their dance relaxes us and calms our minds. The beehive in Predgriže in addition to providing a home for bee colonies, offers a wonderful and relaxing experience. Get to know the wonderful and mysterious world of bees and enjoy a restorative sleep in the apitherapy apiary during a stopover in our surroundings. They offer calming and relaxation in coexistence with the bees and their energy, which has a beneficial effect. It offers you a digital detox (no WIFI and no TV) to connect with nature and the mysterious world of bees. Climb the wooden stairs to the terrace, relax and get comfortable - you'll be welcomed and enjoy a pleasant view of unspoilt nature. Then enter the sleeping and living area of the apiary, with two comfortable beds and a corner where you can prepare herbal tea from the home garden sweetened with honey or sip a cup of fragrant coffee. While chatting, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding meadows and forests of unspoilt nature. The central area is connected to the apiary, where you can relax and lie on the beehives, breathing in the aerosols and the bees' air - while watching the landscape and the bees take off and return to their hives. In the downstairs area, you can use the summer kitchen, serve yourself vegetables from the home garden and sit on the bench for a pleasant chat. There are no free-flying bees in the sleeping area, but they can come in through a window or open door - we recommend keeping windows and doors closed. There is always the possibility of a bee sting, both indoors and outdoors, so we do not recommend our accommodation for those allergic to bee stings. We cannot accept any liability in the event of a sting. It may happen that during your stay there is an emergency or routine bee job, so we ask for your permission to enter the apiary if necessary.
Family beekeeping and apitherapy is enthusiastically run and practiced by Klemen. A certified apitherapist, he is responsible for beekeeping, prepares apitherapy products and advises on the use of bee products for maintaining and improving health. Slovenia has a rich beekeeping tradition and Klemen is proud to carry on the work of his ancestors. We look forward to welcoming you during all four seasons of the year, the best time being from April to October. You can also visit us for a short stopover as we can arrange tastings of floral and forest honey and honey drinks.
We are located on the Črnovrška planota, at the transition from the Dinaric to the Alpine world, in the village of Predgriže. Črnovrška planota stretches below Javornik, Špik, Špičasti vrh and other peaks, surrounded by forests. This is where the name of the town of Črni Vrh (683m) stems from. It lies along the Godovič - Ajdovščina regional road. We have located our apitherapy apiary, surrounded by meadows and forests, near the birthplace of Gabrijel’s father. In this unspoilt environment, you can observe the magic of nature at different times of the year. In spring, nature awakens in all its glory. Everything is in full bloom, the meadow fields are covered in vivid colours, everything comes to life and the life of the bee colony develops rapidly. Predgriže is the right place to pick up healing herbs and gather positive energy. On summer days, you can enjoy the smell of drying hay and soak up the sunshine on the way. You can discover the magical beauty of the nearby rivers and cool off in the refreshing crystal-clear water of the Lajšt natural bathing area, at the confluence of the Idrijca and Belka rivers. In autumn, nature prepares for its winter rest, the cooler winds slowly blow, and everything calms down. The Črnovrška planota is known for its winter delights at Ski Bor and the Trnovski Marathon, one of the biggest winter events in the former country. Throughout the year, it offers many opportunities for outdoor activities (cycling, hiking, skiing, cross-country skiing) and for discovering the area's natural and cultural heritage. The steep slopes with peaks offer a magnificent view from the Adriatic Sea to Triglav. You can climb to the peaks, including Javornik (1240 m), the highest peak in the municipality of Idrija. Due to the low light pollution, there is an astronomical observatory at an altitude of 726m, which on clear nights allows for uninterrupted observation of the night sky.
