Welcome to our Cosy Home at Bedrock Base
Sibebe Rock is a giant monolith, the second largest in the world, after Ayers Rock in Australia. All granite, it digs down 15 km into the earth, along a 10 km span. All this has been declared Nature Reserve and holds a protected status.
Our unique location at Bedrock Base, with Little Sibebe right on our property, is located only 6 km out of Mbabane, and enables you to embark on a hike straight from the property, up the mountain.
In rainy season, water funnels down the mountain on an enormous rock slide, into a trench covered with boulders and vegetation. When the rains have dried up ( and only then, as boulders get very slippery when wet), these boulders make good fun exploring.
The hills up Sibebe provide ample options to go on hikes and adventures. You can even consider an overnight in a random cave/overhang up top, enjoying majestic views, a great sun set and the stars above.
We do have wildlife here. Lots of birds, monkeys, dassies etc can be viewed when lucky.
We provide steps to exit the property over the boundary fence and climb to the top.
Our Cosy Home is a recently built, modern house, carefully situated in between boulders. The house is cladded with slate to make a perfect blend in its surroundings.
It has a fully equipped, open plan kitchen, a living with a fire place, flat screen (Netflix) and uncapped wifi. Its has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, wit fan. Outside is has the garden on all sides, a large veranda with a dining table and braai. We have space for 2 cars underneath the carport in front of the house.
Activities in close proximity.
There are a few rapids you can visit nearby, perfect for a picnic or swimming spots. Just drive down Pine Valley, along the Mbuluzi River. On your left, you can see several spots when passing, all the way down to the dam , just passed Mbuluzi village.
Nearby, at 5 km north of Bedrock Base, is a lodge with the opportunity to go for a dip, Sibebe Lodge.
Up here, you will be able to enjoy the stunning views, bedrocks and pools. Recently, they have added an infinity pool and slides to entertain guests and their the young ones.
In Mbabane is a golfcourse, several restaurants and a small Spa to enjoy.
In the house we have book with more information on activities and places to visit in the north western part of Eswatini., like a house boat at Maguga Dam, ziplining at Malalotja NP or horse back riding at Hawane.
