United KingdomAn amazing house! It was really big with very spacious rooms. Plenty of bathrooms for the size of house. Even though the lounge was big, it felt cosy. Beds extremely comfortable. Carol was so lovely and friendly and couldn’t do enough to help you.

New ZealandOur stay at The Doune was absolutely fantastic. The property has so much character, and every corner feels thoughtfully designed and welcoming. It’s warm, cozy, and has a homely feel that made it so easy to relax.
The kitchen was great—really well-equipped, and the Aga was such a nice touch. Outside, the peaceful water feature, fish pond, and immaculate football pitch were all highlights. Having direct access to the bush was incredible for a bit of exploring.
There are loads of en-suites, which made the stay even more comfortable, and the stone masonry is stunning. Little details, like the swing and the heirlooms scattered around, gave the whole place so much charm. It’s well-guarded and peaceful, so we felt safe the entire time. Even getting there was smooth with the convenient highway access.
We absolutely loved our stay and can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend The Doune to anyone looking for a unique, peaceful getaway!

Nice touch with the radio playing quietly when you arrive. Super king bed and nice linen. No bath, only shower, but bathroom was nice. The Lounge is comfortable and the restaurant was very nice. Our meal was decent, not fine dining, but a decent notch or two above very good pub food. The spa and pool are very very good.
