A very beautiful place to relax. This hotel would be ideal for couples or a romantic getaway if it were adults-only, but when families with children arrive, some noise is unavoidable. The room was nice, small, but with a wonderful ocean view. The doors often make noise due to the wind. The pool is amazing. I liked the food at the restaurant, but it's the only dining option in the hotel. It's quiet and peaceful, but there's not much to do within walking distance, so all entertainment is limited to the hotel itself, which doesn't offer anything special. There's only a small gym, and that’s about it.

We booked for 6 nights. We extended 1 night, then we extended another. We'd have extended even more if we could have but we are leaving Bali soon so we couldn't. When we come back to Bali we will come straight here to stay again. The reasons why we extended and why we love the place so much are because of the staff, Nyoman, Komang and Kadek, who we absolutely love, and the location. There is a tremendous view of Mt Agung from the cafe and pool area and Sidemen itself is just magical, there's no place like it anywhere else in the world.

This is an incredible place to stay! It’s a beautifully made, open bamboo house and it’s in the most amazing location up the mountain. Waking up to sunrise and showering in the open jungle shower was magic! It’s clean and run by wonderful hosts. They take your dinner order and pick it up for you from a local restaurant too, which saves going down and up the steep hill. Such a unique and special place!

The room was spectacular with wall-to-wall window and balcony beyond - overlooking the ocean, to watch the tides come in at morning, and the lights of the fishing boats going out at night. I was in a new, contemporary room - there are a few buildings - with high-end materials and luxurious bathroom. Breakfast is served in a covered dining room/patio alongside the garden and lawn, with the beach just outside a little gate. There's a lovely pool, and the ocean steps away for swimming although the coral beach is rough on the feet - I suggest water shoes. Breakfast included many delicious selections both Balinese and western, served by the sweetest staff. The owner has created a gracious, upscale, classy hotel with every attention to detail. Not much to do in town but I do recommend Vincent's jazz cafe - walking distance - for live music and good food in a beautifully designed setting.
