The location is specatular, with breathtaking views across the lake. The swimming pool was amazing, with sun beds right next to it and perfect privacy. Close enough to Stresa to get there for meals out and to enjoy boat trips etc. but also distant enough to enjoy the peace and quiet. It felt like paradise!!

Very friendly porter and front of house staff spoke English. We were struggling to park but the porter went out of his way to help us move our car to a secure car park behind the hotel. Lovely pool and amazing breakfast!

The location was everything. A fantastic view of the lake from the room. A friendly and warm welcome from the receptionist. Our dog received a welcome gift which included a retractable water bowl and a yummy treat which she enjoyed very much.

Staff. The friendliest, happiest, most cheerful, helpful staff we have encountered in decades of travel. It makes such a difference! From front desk Rafaella to dining room Rafaella, our waiter Guilio and the Chef. (It was only a one night night stopover. ) August 15 was the Ferragosto celebration and we were enthusiastically invited to attend. The traditional Piedmontese menu: a Magnificent aperitif buffet then two served courses followed by dessert and music at the pool side. We were foreigners who felt part of the locals lives. In a hotel! We had a beautiful corner room with a balcony on the second floor and magnificent views of Lake Maggiore, the three islands and the mountains. We drank our morning coffees up there for a small room service fee. We parked inside the hotel for a small fee. We swam in the pool for an hour at 9. Checkout wasn’t till 11. We wished we had a week.

Staff were wonderful before and during our stay. Good communication and very helpful. Breakfast was plentiful with lots of choice. Fresh and locally sourced where possible. A delightful, tranquil location interrupted only by chimes from the bells from the local church (stops at night!), birdsong and cuckoo calls. Gignese has bars, cafes and restaurants and is within walking distance. Stresa with its lakeside promenades, shops and many restaurants is 15-20 minute drive away.

    I really liked the room, it was spacious and very clean, nice bathroom, looks like freshly renovated. I appreciated the parking that was just few steps away and the view was really nice. Garden in front of the restaurant was cosy and breakfast itself was quite nice. Overall I am very happy with this experience, pity we didn’t benefit from the jacuzzi on top of the hotel and pool because it was raining.

    Fantastic apartment in the centre of Stresa Town. We had apartment 10 with 3 balconies, 2 with lake views and a large one overlooking the spa area, which was perfect for relaxing. The bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom facilities were really good. Couldn't fault the apartment of the welcome we received.

    Thanks to Sylvia we had a very nice stay. The view is astonishing as well as are the amenities. Spa, exterior chill out spaces and showers, jacuzzi and of course the very romantic and perfectly refubirshed stone chalet we stayed in. Grazzie Sylvia !

    Amazing hotel! The whole hotel is designed like a palace. Every corner looks like a museum. We got a room with a balcony and a view of the lake, simply stunning! The insulation is perfect! A romantic and pampering hotel, the beds and pillows are really comfortable. The breakfast is excellent! And the spa with the indoor pool and the outdoor ones are simply stunning. No words! Thank you for perfect hospitality
