EXCELLENT value for money. 7000 yen for a whole house. It has a nice location, right next to a forest and with a small farming settlement with a river running between houses. You can hear the sounds of various birds and see the mist on nearby mountains. BBQ available too. The house has a retro Nintendo Famicom if you like old games. The hosts were very nice to us and arrange HALF PRICE at a hot spring in Gero Onsen town. This is my second time at Hanamidori (it is a chain of 3 or 4 houses in Gifu) and last time was good too

Breakfast was perfect! Its not buffet style and well prepared. Very well located; near the skii resort and Bokano Sato. there is free marshmallow during dinner too. We also ordered the beef dinner which was amazing too!

We absolutely loved our stay here. When driving in you are surrounded by mountains and it's so peaceful. We took this time to rest and enjoy the beautiful traditional Japanese home. You can get dinner for 5000 yen, which includes venison or 3500 without venison. It was a beautiful meal and a lot of food. The beds were one of the most comfortable from our entire trip, and the fluffy bedding was a dream. There are a few things in the direct area you can walk to view, the dam, which is pretty impressive. Thank you for giving us this experience. There is an onsen about 8km away at a hotel in town, we hoped to use but last entry is 7.15pm. We used facilities at the accommodation and were happy with them.

    The house is spacious with two bedrooms, a living room, a toilet and a bath. Our host, a kind old lady brought us an extra heater and we really appreciated it. Breakfast is included but I guess they forgot to come on the first morning. The second morning, the lady came to cook the breakfast which includes freshly steamed rice, a soft boiled egg, tea and miso soup. It is definitely no match for some hotel buffet but still a nice touch.
