Very good location, great staff (answered my 100 messages not only about accomodation but Kumano Kodo in general), good atmosphere, old japanese onsen just around the corner, but no need to use it as this place has their own private onsens! Really recommend ❤️

Ike’s hospitality, humour and cooking was brilliant! It was a real joy having beautiful home cooking - the dinner, breakfast and lunchbox were exceptional. And chatting after dinner about food and Japan was really insightful and enjoyable!

Staying in an old-school Japanese house was a great experience for a foreigner like myself. The house is equipped with everything you need, including a stove, pan, utensils, microwave, fridge, and a small oven. The location is also very convenient—there’s a supermarket just a five-minute walk away, and a bus stop only two minutes away. The bus takes you directly to many famous attractions, including the three well-known shrines, which is especially helpful on rainy days when you don’t want to walk far after getting off the bus. While the cleanliness isn’t at a “hotel” level (as it’s not a hotel), the owner was very responsive to any issues I had. On the first night, I realized that the air conditioner wasn’t working, which was frustrating given that it was 30 degrees inside. However, after I contacted the owner, they came the next day to check the AC. I didn’t expect it to be fixed immediately, but to my surprise, the owner brought and installed a portable air conditioner while I was out sightseeing. I came back to a “new” AC! Overall, I had a pleasant three-day stay.

Friendly Staff set the tone by giving very exact instructions so that shared facilities and common spaces were comfortable. Sleeping quarter is an individual capsule space with drawn curtains, futon, pillow, duvet with clean new sheets. It had an electrical point, and a small table lamp. In total a comfortable stay. It's very close to Japan's oldest natural hotspring and JHop has its own private natural hot bath.

Great location less than five minutes from Yunomine Onsen bus stop and the public baths, including World Heritage listed Tsubo-yu. The bed was comfortable, and bedroom warm, common lounge less so. People gathered in the well heated kitchen for talks which was very pleasant.

We stayed in a traditional Japanese room, which was spacious and comfortable. We loved the house and it felt very traditional, with a lovely lounge to enjoy after a long walk. Staff is so helpful and really nice.
