The owner was super sweet and helpful (driving to the monkey park and the train station). The onsen were great, the private onsen was almost all the time available! A spacious room and the little town felt like a little fairytale (it was snowing when we were there).

Location was very good for skiing. Ski room locker directly opened onto slopes and the top of gondola was steps away when returning on the last lift. Have stayed here before and the private onsen room includes a private dining room with full multi course Japanese meals. These Japanese meals are very traditional and not for the western palate but are a great experience for the adventurous. The normal rooms and shared dining work but the private dining is the real treat and why I booked. The shared onsen is also very good but maybe not great if it was busy - we were the only ones there and the sauna and outdoor pool were a bonus. If the private onsen room doesn't make too big a dent in your wallet and you want to experience traditional Japanese dining then go for it.

The staff especially Ms Karki Smriti were really helpful. As we don't speak Japanese, she assisted us on information for the road condition of 292 route as it was snowing and we did not have snow tyres. The place was beautiful, clean and peaceful. The staffs were really friendly and helpful. The room was spacious, clean with its own open air bath, and a beautiful view. Everything was arranged perfectly and the food was delicious. I will definitely visit this place again.

We pre-booked breakfast, which was mostly Japanese style buffet, although a small selection of croissant and cereal available. Pre-booked dinner was Fabulous! Hotpot & DIY BBQ style meat with soups and veggies each night. Different variations for each of the 3 nights we were there. Definitely recommend pre-booking meals as nowhere close/easy to go. Staff - AMAZING. Even with small amount of English - very easy to communicate. Ski/clothing/gloves/helmet hire very easy to access in hotel but quite dated, although fine for 2-3 days of skiing. We had to buy lift tickets across the road at lift ticketing office, which was simple. Onsen absolutely fabulous. Beautiful shampoos/conditioner etc provided. Robes available in hallway shelves, along with help yourself green tea at any time. Bus stop 1 minute walk away. Great family hotel.
