Oh wow, if ever a place one should stay it is here. Tomoko-san and Toshi-san are the friendliest people you will ever meet. The are caring and helpful beyond one can imagine (I got sick and they essentially nursed me better - offering me fever tablets, made my futon and provided me with ginger tea). On top of that they make a mean (delectable) breakfast. The onsen/bath is amazing, it is a small but private onsen that one room can use for themselves, which if you are afraid to use a public onsen this would be perfect for you. The location is near some hiking spots and skiing areas. It is also close to a public bath area (public bath uses geothermal heat - sulfuric smell) where as the onsen on site is iron heated. The outdoor onsen also overlooks nature so when there is snow it has an amazing view. Tomoko-san and Toshi-san also have great stories which were enjoyable, to hear their hobbies and where they have worked overseas is amazing.

Fantastic location a few minutes walk from the castle and in a great neighbourhood with lots of Cafes and restaurants. (I didn't take meals at the hotel.) Nice large Onsen.

I think it was the best balance between comfort location and price. My friends and I got a triple room and honestly it was perfect. It is 10 min walking from Matsumoto main street and train station. We also loved it a lot because during the week no one else was there so we had the whole place for ourselves! Would definitely recommend

Fantastic place. Good location close to the bus terminal. The staff is super friendly and helpful. We ate both breakfast and dinner at the hotel and the food was wonderful. They were able to prepare vegetarian meals for us. The rooms in Japanese style are beautiful and the outdoor onsen was lovely.

The place is really cute, well equipped and clean. The gentleman who welcomed us was really kind and showed us everything about the apartment. It’s a warm and quiet place. We had a lovely stay there.

The host was very friendly and helpful, and let us know he was available to assist at any time if required. The apartment was very comfortable and we appreciated being able to cook. There is a wonderful supermarket ten minutes walk away, and the train station to get to Matsumoto is also a ten minute walk. We loved our stay and would definitely stay again.

Marvellous establishment run by superlative hosts Yumi san and family. The true essence of Japanese hospitality - at its very finest. Gorgeous view, clean and serene ambience replete with an inviting sauna and manicured garden. Omotenashi par excellence. Would happily give the accommodation 5stars and the hosts 7stars.
