It’s hard to say one thing, so I will say two: 1) the beautiful landscape and terraces (including our private one) that allowed us to disconnect and relax, and 2) how kind and accommodating our host Maria was! She makes you feel super welcomed and serves a delicious breakfast buffet every morning. She has 12 donkeys, 2 mini ponies, etc. on her property, and she gave us bread to feed them which was really fun. You would be surprised how relaxing it is to have tea on your terrace surrounded by green grounds, trees, and donkeys off in the distance grazing. This is really a gem off the beaten path! The train is within walking distance so we easily spent the day discovering San Sebastián to then happily return home to a chill, restful environment.

Our stay at Casa Rural Abatetxe was a superb experience in every conceivable way... The owner, Matteo, was incredibly helpful, friendly and welcoming. The accommodation is arranged within a stone building that dates back several hundred years but which has been beautifully renovated to an exceptionally high standard by Matteo himself. There are a variety of animals on site including a couple of delightful donkeys, a cat and the two most quiet and well-behaved dogs we've ever seen! The environment is amazingly tranquil, the accommodation is off-grid yet fully-functional and we're grateful to Matteo for having facilitated this experience for us. We intend visiting again as soon as our schedules permit.

The terrace is absolutely huge and provided an ideal space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Parking was easy and stress-free, which is always a plus. The communication with the host was perfect; she was incredibly helpful and responsive, making the entire experience seamless. We stayed in the apartment for almost 7 weeks. The host is wonderful. She prepared so much for our visit and provided a lot of special items for our kids like high chairs and nice cribs. She took great care of us and gave us so much good and detailed information about the area and things to do and see. She also brought us lovely treats and was very responsive to our needs without being intrusive. Very good communication. The apartment is great - very spacious and well equipped and has a really nice outdoor space. It worked really well for kids too as there is nothing too dangerous or breakable.
