The guest house has family rooms. We stayed on our way to catch the ferry home from Caen. It was very easy to find and a stunning property steeped in history. The rooms were fascinating and we felt welcomed by Joseph and Ogen who were friendly and explained the history and restoration of the property which dates from 1260. The rooms that we stayed in had a modern shower bathroom between them and beautifully soft bathrobes and large towels were provided. We requested the evening meal and it was the best food we had eaten on our entire holiday, we were also asked for any dietary requests as well. Creatively prepared leek vinagrette opened the meal, local vegetables and deliciously moist cod for the main course and the meal finished with fresh strawberries and homemade Chantilly cream. They had a fully stocked bar which complemented the meal. It was a truly unique stay and would love to return when the weather would allow us to use the outdoor pool! We had breakfast the next day which consisted of fresh croissants and jam and Ogen also made some divine scrambled eggs with chives.

With city views, this accommodation provides a balcony and a swimming pool. The accommodation offers a hot tub, free WiFi throughout the property and family rooms. Cyril was a great host. He welcomed us in and showed us our room and the shared facilities (kitchen, games room, patio...) In the garden, the jacuzzi is 5 stars as is the pool. The room is large and all 4 of us slept comfortably. We found parking very near the front door.

I had visited Vichy a few years ago and found it well worth a second visit. The guesthouse is situated in a fin-the-siècle (not the last one of course) villa just outside of the stunning spa complex and a few minutes' walk from the Allier river. Warm welcome by nice host who showed us around, Cosy, spacious room, nice lounge where you can prepare and eat your own meals. If there are other guests (there weren't) you share the lounge with them. Hygiene 100%. Good beds, shower a bit underpowered but nothing to complain about really. Adequate breakfast. Host would have been glad to look after our luggage until we left in the afternoon, but unfortunately had to leave for the day herself; her friend at the supermarket across the street was so kind to keep our bags, which is saying something about the atmosphere here. Easy, straightforward 15 minutes walk from the train station. Tip: follow the Avenue de Paris from the station and not the Gambetta as suggested by Google, not that it's bad but the Paris is much nicer and perhaps 10 seconds slower. Recommended.

We arrived 6 hrs after our designated time of arrival because of flooding, storms and detours amidst traffic chaos to a relaxed, happy and accommodating staff that made us feel at home. Nothing was too much trouble. The service, amenities and attention to detail is without a doubt unsurpassable. Breakfast was delicious.

Our apartment had all the facilities needed. At night the bedroom was dark and the neighbourhood quiet. The bedroom on the first floor had a ventilator. The breakfast was nice, and the dinner (optional) was very good and cosy, outside under the tent. Our daughter got to ride on the donkey, which she loves very much!
