Cozy, comfortable, clean and modern cottage with lots of space. Nicely equipped kitchen. Great hot tub on the deck overlooking the sea. Spectacular drive over the mountain pass and through the fjord to reach the cottage. Helpful and friendly host.

Located in Neskaupstaður in the East Iceland region, Skorrahestar provides accommodation with free private parking, as well as access to a hot tub. The property has mountain and garden views. The farm stay features family rooms as well as facilities for disabled guests. Skorrahestar is a gem. From the warm greeting by the owners who treat you like family to the excellent beds and showers to the exceptional breakfast (mostly home made from scratch) we had the most wonderful time. You also get full access to the huge and more than well equipped kitchen so you can prepare your own meals. Going riding is a pleasure as well, the horses are well schooled and the surroundings are beautiful. We will definitely go back there next time we're in the East Fjords.

The 3-bedroom cottages at Langahlid Cottages all have an open-plan room with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area. The living room features a flat-screen TV and DVD player. This place was incredible. Everything from the jaw dropping views to the small details, like robes in each room, was over the top. You can tell the owners have put their love into what they do. Best place we’ve stayed in Iceland.

Laugarfell Accommodation & Hot Springs is located in the Eastern Highlands and is at the border of Vatnajökull National Park. From Laugarfell you have access to many hiking trails and you are close to the road leading to Askja. Laugarfell is accessible for all types of vehicles.

There is a shared guest lounge and restaurant. The restaurant offers breakfast, dinner and coffee, cake and snacks. I Laugarfell every year in September with friends and we love this place. The staff is always so friendly. Looking forward to next year visit.

Each holiday home has wooden interiors and a bathroom with a shower, hairdryer and free toiletries. A sauna, hot tub and yoga mats are also available. We loved the cabin and its surroundings. It's secluded enough to feel isolated, yet a five-minute drive from the grocery store, gas station, etc. It was clean and all the appliances were in perfect working order. We cooked dinner and enjoyed the quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

It was clean, they had good drinks and the spa was quiet and not crowded at all. They also had a washing machine and dryer you could use for free. We went here in the middle of July.

Hotel Stadarborg is in Breiddalur Valley, next to Road 1 and less than a 1-hour drive from Egilsstadir. It provides modern en-suite rooms, a restaurant, hot tub and sauna are available at an additional charge. Breakfast was really good with a variety of options. The location was great - just far enough from town to have a clear view of the northern lights when they flared up at night. Worth the price for the area.
