That didn’t bother us because really enjoyed the serene and private feel of being further from the city, but something to keep in mind. Also, I was blown away by the meals and by how fresh all of the food was. If staying here, definitely attend the breakfasts and dinners at the hotel. It almost had the feel of a Michelin star restaurant.

The stairs to upper level room is steep. typical old Japanese house, not much problem for us but people with knee problems should take note on this. Kenrokuen garden is walking distance but we need to walk up the hill to reach the park. We rented Noah mpv for our trip and the parking space is just nice to fit the car
