For a extra cost, she taught my wife the Tsugarujamisen and me how to make the delicious Nambu delicacy, Senbei-jiru. The premises were immaculate the freshly replaced tatami rooms aromatic. It is a little bit off the beaten path but easy enough to find with GPS.

The hotel offers a shuttle car to pick up and drop you off at the nearest station which is very convenient. We were welcomed by very kind staff who made our stay extra nice. Thank you! A very traditional Japanese guest house with ultra friendly and accommodating hosts. This property has been in their family for generations and they go out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The meals were excellent and there was an English explanation for each dish served 😊. A big bonus is the short walk to the stairs to climb Mt Haguro. (Not that that makes the stairs any easier!) We thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay here!

Also the in-person check-out was great and they were very attentive. The room is beautiful and it has everything that you need. I recommend it.
