Best part was sitting on the back deck enjoying the extraordinary view of the lake after a day out and having a cold refreshment. Will definitely stay at the Retreat when next in Taupo.

The place has amazing views and we found it very relaxing to come back after a long day of sightseeing. Amenities were very nice. Kitchen was well equipped. Beds were very comfortable. The pool, tennis courts and offering of kayaks and equipment was very kind of the host to offer. The grocery stores and restaurants were close, a short drive for us. The unit was very modern and clean and much larger than expected. Whitianga is a very beautiful relaxing town and this unit was in a great location.

Our room was simple but spaciuos, clean and tidy with a big bathroom and a very comfortable bed. There is a small kitchen equipped all what is needed, the breakfast was very nice! even if we stayed for one night only, we felt like home! a plus is the hot pool iacuzzi in the garden, fantastic! the surrounding garden is so lovely and the cat is adorable! The BnB is 10 minutes by car from Matamata town and around 15 minutes from Hobbitton movie set.
