We loved everything about Gasthof Maria Plain! We had no idea where it was located in relationship to Salzburg, but we had admired the church from the road as we came in. Imagine our surprise when we saw we were going up that hill towards the church. Parking was easy & convenient. The second surprise is that the hotel had its own charming Christmas market. The rooms were clean & comfortable, & every room had a breathtaking view. The fact that we arrived after a big snow storm just added to the beauty. It was a short & inexpensive cab ride to central Salzburg. The restaurant had a good menu, great food & reasonable prices. Breakfast was very nice. The staff were very friendly & helpful. We will be back next spring!

    the room was a decent size, big windows for fresh air and AC which was nice. the bathroom was good size as well. the location was very good as the tram/bus below takes you directly to the salzburg central station in about 15/20mins and through the old town/city centre in around 10mins depending on other traffic.

    The hotel is just a few minutes’ walk from Salzburg Central Station, with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby, making it very convenient. The bed was extremely comfortable, and we both had a great night’s rest. The 12 noon check-out time was perfect and fit seamlessly into our itinerary.
