Outstanding experience. You may use funicular which is close to main train station or by hiking. A nice restaurant at top. Beatiful view of the Interlaken area with incredible scenery of Brienz and Interlaken lakes. Wonderful place to see the area and get the lay of the land!
Wonderful place to see the area and get the lay of the land! This was our first excursion in Interlaken, and I got my friends absolutely pumped as we looked at areas in the distance we would explore in the coming days. You can take a quick trip up and just enjoy the sights and restaurant, or you can explore the trails that go all along the area. There is a specific hike that is not for the faint of heart, but definitely qualifies for core memory status, and that is the Hardergrat. If you have time to plan, I’d actually start from Brienzer-Rothorn and work your way back to end at Harder Kulm, thus named Brienzergrat. It’s much easier on the knees! If you want one of the EASIEST places to visit from...
If you want one of the EASIEST places to visit from Interlaken, this is the place. It has AMAZING VIEWS of 2 different lakes and 3 small villages with mountains all around. I was in AWE and I have been to Junfraujoch, Titlis, Rigi and Gornergrat. Really loved how easy it was to just take funicular right from town. It's right behind the Beau Rivage Hotel. That hotel was also kind enough to hold our luggage while we went up the mountain....unbelievable service...with no charge (we just tipped). Wished there was airconditioning; fortunately, you supplied us with fans. Breakfast was also good. Most importantly, the location was perfect. We practically walked from the rail station to the hotel, from hotel to Harder Kulm's location, to Grandhotel Victoria, and to many dining places.
