Perfect location. Remarkable architecture of the hotel. The staff is very good and responsive. The beds were very comfortable and the room very clean.There are two fast elevators and we didn't have to wait. The roof terrace has a beautiful view at any time of the year. It is convenient for smokers. )

    The location of this hotel is excellent. It is very close to the Spalentor Gate giving access to the old town of Basel and just across the road from the University's botanic gardens which are very interesting. There were a range of restaurants within walking distance and the reception staff were happy to make recommendations to us. We enjoyed sitting in the hotel's garden area with a drink. We would return to this hotel and recommend it to others.

    We got spacious and clean rooms at Spalentor. The hotel serves good breatfast and is lacated just in the entrance to the old town of Basel. There is a small gym and a sitting area outside the reception. Team was helpful.

    Lovely renovated rooms in a beautiful building. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the check-in staff were efficient and helpful. Our Basel cards were sent through by email before our arrival so we could use them as soon as we landed at the airport. The hotel is conveniently situated 5 minutes from the old town (at Spalentor) and on the no. 3 tramline.

    We have visited Basel many times and always stay at Hotel Spalentor. It is very well located for walking into the old centre of the city and surrounding areas are equally accessible by car or tram. In addition it is not pretentious but comfortable and the staff are all very friendly and helpful.

    Clean and comfortable, and ideally placed to explore the old town of Basel. Walking distance to Munster, Spalentor, town hall, River and lots of museums etc of the medieval town. Staff really helpful and we were able to leave our bags while we explored Basel on our last day. We're given a BaselCard by receptionist which meant we could use public transport for free (which is the best transport we've ever used, so so reliable) and discounts of museum etc entry.
