It is quite an impressive dam.
It is quite an impressive dam. Especially if you are a movie buff and like to bungee jump. If hiking the Senterio trail 74 goes all the way to Sonogno. It’s a UNESCO heritage trail and quite flat and lots of things to do for the children too. The most beautiful is the route from Sonogno to Lavertezzo. The Roman bridge at Lavertezzo with its emerald green waters is a must see and the most photographed in the region. We hiked on 2 separate days and there is a bus from Locarno to Sonogno. If you stay at Gordola, you can catch the bus at Gordola Posta. There were so many people at the bus stop at 16.00 at Lavertezzo and we weren’t sure if we will be let on the bus, unbelievably, three buses were dispatched and everyone got a seat.
