Brilliant staff. Great location. Great room (with king bed), but the breakfast! OMG that breakfast!!! I would go again, pay the nightly fee and sleep on the street outside if that breakfast were included. No seriously ... what a brilliant place to stay in Chester. Superb value. 100% we will be returning.

Great hotel in the city center that deserves its 4 stars. You can stop in front of the hotel to unload your suitcases. Large, clean, quiet room and bathroom. Plenty of storage space and space for 2 suitcases. Super extensive breakfast that really deserves to be called a "continental breakfast" - it really had everything. There is an affordable, inexpensive parking, even for larger vehicles, with over 200 places at the train station of Chester. Chester railway station is about 10-15 minutes walk from the hotel. You can pay your park ticket at the counter in the station, where you can also get information about trains to Liverpool (direct connection) and Manchester. If you plan to visit Liverpool we recommend taking the train, so you don't spend time and money looking for a parking space. There are several departures per hour, travel time approx. 45 minutes. Of the places on the Welsh coast, we liked Llandudno the best. When we asked at reception, we were recommended an Indian restaurant nearby, almost opposite the hotel, and they even reserved a table for Saturday evening. It was really good. We were also able to borrow an English adapter, as our own didn't work with the laptop. Chester city centre was about 10-15 minutes away from the hotel, but not just the main road, but also the option of walking through a park and along the River Dee.

Inside the old walls of the city and only 5 minutes from the centre and restaurant. I really appreciate the room and the big bathroom. Everything was good and remodelling with good taste.

Amazing, so much to see and do.

Amazing, so much to see and do. Lots of places to take a rest, and eat and drink. Toilet facilities exceptional. No stressed animals, all enjoying their best lives. Love the new African zone, though fully and creatively designed.

    Massive zoo!

Massive zoo! As this is a conservation zoo don't expect to see every animal as their enclosers are large for the animals to feel safe and comfortable. The food is quite expensive, however, you can buy a reusable drink cup to refill at a discount as you walk round.

Chester Zoo vies (with Whipsnade) as the UK's best zoo.

Chester Zoo vies (with Whipsnade) as the UK's best zoo. This is a stunning, world class zoo with a broad and mainly breeding collection, supporting associated conservation projects globally. I would like more detailed information available online about habitats/animals but on the ground, a day-long visit leaves you wanting even more. Enjoy! Then come again.....

The animals in Chester Zoo are given some of the most spacious and stimulating habitats, so much so that it's often difficult to find the animal it's supposed to house.
