The breakfasts were very nice and there was a big choice, from vegetarian to meet dishes. The food was fresh, there were also meals espacially prepared by the ladies working there and of course it was delicious. We also liked the staff in general, very friendly and helpful. The location was great!

Acropolis Museum

Athens is a city steeped in history, shaped by the many people and empires that have called it home. This relationship to the past can be seen and felt throughout the city, but the scale and beauty of Greek antiquity is best appreciated at the Acropolis Museum. Standing next to the Parthenon itself, the Museum's exhibits span thousands of years and document the stories of the people of Athens through war, religion and daily life. From beautiful marbles to stunning statues, there's no better way to feel the presence of the past.

If you don't have time for both the Acropolis and the Museum...

If you don't have time for both the Acropolis and the Museum, see the Museum. You can see the Acropolis from walking around it and from adjacent hills. Not quite as close, but still good. Lots of what went in the Parthanon and other monuments is collected in the Acropolis Museum for safe keeping.

We've seen many museums and sites already in Greece, so this museum was pretty ordinary really in terms of the items to see. I would only recommend if you were only going to one museum in Greece, otherwise it's underwhelming.

Fabulous, interesting venue.

Fabulous, interesting venue. Go as early as you can in the morning to avoid the tour groups who crowd in front of the exhibits and block your view. So many wonderful and small items on display. Well worth the time spent and a great view of the Acropolis above.

The National Archaeological Museum is a must see for history...

The National Archaeological Museum is a must see for history buffs, with its impressive collection of ancient artifacts. The Acropolis Museum, located right at the foot of the Acropolis, offers a fascinating look at the ancient site’s history, with displays that range from sculptures to everyday objects used by ancient Athenians.

The museum is one of the most interesting on the way objects are displayed. You definitely need a minimum an audio guide which its free on the museum site i think. The view of the acropolis from the museum adds a magic touch. Buy tickets inside the museum

I suggest a visit to the Acropolis Museum before visiting...

I suggest a visit to the Acropolis Museum before visiting the Acropolis. Seeing the sculpture/artwork at eye level gives you a better sense of what was once there to inform your understanding of the structures on the Acropolis. The museum construction above archaeological structures is spectacular, with clear floors and walkways that allow you to see what is below and remind you that the Acropolis was surrounded by dense habitation. Although the exhibits are beautiful, Interpretation of the objects, the underlying structures and the Acropolis is sparse and/or inconsistent. I would have expected to learn more about where the objects were manufactured, by whom, who was living/working in the ruins below the musuem. The museum has a pleasant cafe with spectacular views of the Acropolis from below. It also has a large quiet reading room that offered a much needed respite from the crowds, heat and sensory overload of Athens in July!

Our family of 5 loved this apartment! The location is perfect, only 10-15min easy walk to the Acropolis Museum. The place is updated and very well done. Everything feels clean and fresh. The kitchen is very nice, feels new and includes a washing machine. Overall it was a very comfortable place close to the Acropolis and Plaka. The host is great and very responsive. We were welcomed with a bottle of wine, fruit and snacks on the kitchen counter. Very thoughtful, thank you!

The apartment is far more spacious than we'd imagined and in a perfect location for the Acropolis museum, shops and restaurants in the Plaka, and the Parthenon view from several of the huge windows. Two beautiful bedrooms, both with knockout views, and one with its own ensuite bathroom as well as small living room. The location is perfect, the feel of the apartment quiet, with just the right amount of lovely touches. When doors and windows are closed, complete quiet. When they're open, the city noise enters. All as it should be!

GREAT LOCATION! You literally step out to the street where the Acropolis Museum and metro station are located, surrounded by many restaurants and a small AB supermarket. Despite being so central, the apartment itself is very quiet. I’m very grateful to the host who kindly allowed us to check in early.
