I think Slane Castle was very interesting and what the Conynghams have done for the community over the years. They have worked hard to try to restore the castle since the fire. It is a very expensive project to try to keep it up. I would like to know more about its history, but there are not many tours for small groups of people and being out of the country, it is not possible to attend events that are not offered daily.Guest review byVirginiaCanada

We stayed in Hazel yurt and it overlooked Slane castle. Excellent location. Peaceful and clean. The beds were so comfortable. Lots of wildlife around the farm. Rabbits - Pheasants. The farm pigs if you go looking. Good facilities with plenty of space. Has all mod cons. Showers and toilet facilities are modern and clean. In the countryside, beside the river, with a view on Slane Castle. The sunsets were amazing from our Shepherd's Hut. The hut is smal but surprisingly cosy, with a comfy bed. Free parking in the back. Rooms were well-prepared and clean. The breakfast was included and was what exceeded our expectations - choice of prepared meals (including full Irish breakfast) as well as great coffee and pastries (especially enjoyed the croissants). The staff were very helpful and helped organise a taxi for us up to the venue. Taxis aren’t plentiful so there can be a queue to get one, but there is a bar that you can have a drink at while you wait!
