Perlan is excellent, it is very pricey but then everything in Iceland is, maybe discounts by pre-booking? The volcano tour (simulator) and video are both excellent. The ice cave is also excellent especially if you are not able to get to one in the 'wild'. A note for wheelchair users, there is quite a large gap in the ramp to get into the ice cave, if you physically cannot get out of your chair don't attempt.

Interesting Iceland exhibits, especially chance to see northern lights in summer and experience an ice cave. Relaxing top story restaurant with great city views, including outdoor walk-all-the-way-around. Food mediocre; way overcooked. Accessible via hop-on, hop-off red bus.

Don't bother with this tourist trap!

Don't bother with this tourist trap! Stick to the city centre and head up the tower at Hallgrimskirkja Church. Whilst it isn't as high as The Pearl we got an even better view of Reykjavik from here and at a far more reasonable price. Hallgrimskirkja Church cost us £18 for 2 adults and 1 child with no travel cost as we were in the centre. It cost us £26 for a return taxi to Perlan and £46 for tickets just for the observation deck and we were hugely disappointed - an absolute 'is this it?!' moment. A huge waste of money and an even bigger waste of time!

The planetarium show is interesting, but the rest of the 'museum' is about climate change. Good if you're interested in that, but I've heard it all so many times before. The ice tunnel is like walking through an old refrigerator freezer--water sprayed on metal walls and frozen.

Loved the ice cave since we weren't able to go in a real one. Theater gave great info re northern lights and history. Rooftop gave a beautiful view of the whole city and area. Enjoyed some down time having a snack and did some souvenir shopping. So glad we found The Pearl.
