Completely nested inside the caves, this property is unique and it exceeded my expectations. The staff was incredible - very helpful, patient and eager to help. A particular shout out to Danila who was a super star! The breakfast area is amazing, the spread is outstanding and we even had a quartet and a soprano play on the last day. Can’t recommend enough

A beautiful boutique hotel in the heart of Sassi. If you are looking for an authentic "grota" experience, this is it. The room had a very high ceiling and was very cosy. The staff was very helpful, the lobby is also very nice. In front of the hotel there is an amazing view of the old town. Would definitely recommend and stay here again.

Great location right in the Sassi area. Our room was comfortable, clean and typically decorated. The breakfast was good. The owner was very kind, gave us a map of the city and recommended what to visit. We liked everything and will come back with pleasure.

    We had the perfect view of Sassi di Matera from the hotel balcony! It’s located next to Matera Cathedral and very close to all the attractions in the old city. Walking is the best option for going around the town. Restaurants and supermarkets are all within walking distance. We find the food prices here a lot cheaper than other Italian cities and the gelato is so good and cheaper, too! We also found a cafe that sells panzerotti for €2.30 each. Our hosts Pasquale and Federica were both so lovely and very helpful.

    Perfect location near Matera Cathedral with the most amazing view!! Love love love! The house is very beautiful in a vintage way. Comfortable and provided all the necessities that we need. The host was very helpful and communicative. We will definitely stay here if we come to Matera again. Thumbs up!
