The room was really good. There was a nice view. The private onsen was a first time thing for me. It was a really good experience! I had the occasion to eat there too at night. The taste and quality were outstanding. The staff was also really professional and lovely.

I liked everything from the time I entered this place! Wonderful staff! Wonderful design of hotel! Wonderful restaurant dinner, 2 nights 2 different menus, traditional Japanese breakfast 👍 Hot spring bath in the room, also public bath, we were allowed to visit it even having big tattoos.

The most incredible hotel we have ever stayed at. From the moment you arrive the staff do absolutely everything to make you feel welcome and tend to your every need. The views from the lounge are breathtaking and all of the little details make you feel peaceful and relaxed. From the herbal tea station to the wood burning fire at night time, blankets on the chairs and the ambient music playing, we loved it all. The kaiseki breakfast and dinner are truly incredible, although we found we were unable to finish everything as the courses are so generous, we were blown away by all of the beautiful dishes we got to try that we would otherwise not have had on our trip. You can choose and Japanese or western breakfast and if Japanese, you get to select a grilled fish from a list the night before. The whole dining experience was some of the best hospitality I have ever received. We stayed on the second floor in a room with the onsen tub on the balcony and the room itself was comfortable and came with some luxury skincare products which we made use of during our stay. There are also free drinks in the refrigerator in your room which are topped up during your stay. I cannot recommend Hakone Gora Byakudan enough.

I like that it was so close to the Gora Station and that it was very spacious. I mean, we had the whole apartment for the three of us. I also like that the host was very responsive to my queries and was really accommodating, allowing us for an early check in.

The place is just as pretty in person as on the pictures! We stayed for a shared dinner and I really recommend that experience if possible, just try to reserve in advance. The hostel is located a short wark from Gora Station where you can take the ropeway up the lake. Shares kitchen was specious and super well equipped :).

The staff was super friendly and the hotel was atmospheric. It had nice onsen and was close to Hakone Ropeway and Gora Station. They also had pick up option from Gora station. Had also very full Japanese meals and breakfast. We were stuffed.

Our entire stay was sooo lovely and pleasant. They provide shuttle service from Gora station to the hotel which made things very easy. The Onsens were lovely (I have small tattoos and this didn’t seem to be an issue). They are fairly private as it’s a small hotel and most days it was only me or 1 other person. Highlight was the meals! They felt very homely and was definitely very filling. Would highly recommend for a relaxing stay

Lovely hotel, just what we needed after a few bustling days in Tokyo. The hotel staff were very professional and helpful. They have a good system going. We enjoyed our room with the private onsen, it was great to use every night we stayed. The room was very clean and well presented. We slept very well. We liked the free shuttle service to and from Odawara, very convenient. Also the lift to and from Gora station, saved us taking another hike up the steep stairs.

Traditional Japanese hotel next door to Gora station so ideal to travel all over Hakone which is beautiful and a refreshing escape from the big busy cities Part of the Dormi hotel chain it has the Onsen facilities which are pleasant We enjoyed the food which was very Japanese No continental or English breakfasts here Room was very spacious and comfy beds and pillows Free coffee and ice pops and fruit drinks ( a bit spicy for us) Cooking our own food was fun and the staff were so helpful dealing with our ignorance

Great and comfortable hotel near Gora station. The staff was super helpful and friendly. The private Onsen in a room was a great bonus, but even if you take this out of the equation, the room was clean, spacious, with all amenities you may need and a comfy bed! I would highly recommend it :)

This hotel has been one of the best stays in my life. The ryokan has been a family business for over 100 years, and the couple who own it are extremely helpful and love it. There were two different onsens, which were open at all hours, and they were really relaxing and had everything we needed. The rooms themselves were very traditional, but we had everything that we needed and the owners were very happy to help us in any way. The man drove us to Gora Station twice, which was extremely helpful and kind. We had an incredible time.

This is the fanciest hostel style hotel I’ve stayed at. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, it’s literally over the road from the Gora station, a close walk to shops and vending machines and restaurants and right in the heart of the Hakone Freepass route. The room was huge, the bed was super comfortable, the amenities and free breakfast were all great. They also make a fantastic fig Mojito that you HAVE to try! Couldn’t recommend it enough.

We loved it straight away. As already mentioned very big place, but inviting and spotless. Very close to Gora Station and a couple of great restaurants. A very great alternative to a hotel. We had luck and could even get in a little earlier. Communication Perfect and easy with the host.
