Hotels near Lake Tanuki, Fujinomiya

Getting away from it all – perfect place to relax, great views, ample buffet, really helpful and friendly staff, even though only one person could speak conversational English, everyone was accommodating and helpful using apps.

There was a European/western classic feel to the hotel. The room was clean and spacious with a nice view of Mt Fuji. The service was very good.

Perfect place to make your body & mind calm and peace !

Due to an error in Google Maps' vehicle information, we found out there were no cars available to return to the hotel. We faced a 3-hour walk from Asama Shrine to Shiraito Park, mostly uphill with barely any streetlights. Just when we were on the verge of breaking down and feeling helpless, the host kindly drove to pick us up and brought us back to the hotel. Without her help, we would’ve had to walk the entire way 😭😭😭. On top of that, the hotel’s environment is fantastic—stepping out the door, you’re greeted by a lovely garden, and just a few steps away is the stunning Shiraito Waterfall. It’s absolutely worth the long journey!

It is hard to find something we didn't like honestly. Great accommodation all around. The room was clean, comfortable, well equipped, even had Japanese pajamas ready on the bed. Water and glasses, incredible Mount Fuji view from the room or the balcony upstairs. The whole house was extremely clean. The common room had a giant TV with Netflix, YouTube and even Disney. All the people that we met inside the house were extremely friendly, starting from the staff to the guests. The bathrooms were extremely well equipped, especially for the ladies, with feminine hygiene products. The water pressure in the shower was unbelievable. They offered to take us from the station and back, even to visit the town free of charge. They even offered us some traditional Thai food as one of the owners is Thai. The room downstairs is traditional Japanese with tatami floors and everything. Electric bike rent service was available to explore the rural side of Japan and it was gorgeous. Everything was just amazing and if you choose to stay here, don't forget to write your name on the map and something nice in the memory notebook.

Such an amazing stay! The place is a LOT more remote than I thought, because I didn't check the map properly, but it was an amazing, if unexpected, escape from the city. Despite our poor planning, the hosts went above and beyond to ensure we got everything we needed. The room and facilities were beautiful and immaculate! The landscape and environment were unbeatable! We saw monkeys! Just wild! By the side of the road! Treat yourself to an ebike ride around the town and check out the fishing pond that cooks the fish for you (kunugi fish farm) and the incomparable cafe (古家cafe自然坊), the food was delicious and wildly affordable and the staff unbelievably welcoming. Best accidental trip to rural Japan I can imagine taking!! Thank you so much Hana and family ❤️❤️❤️
