The lodge rooms have got everything you need: hairdryer, mirror, clothes hangers etc. It was also very clean. I recommend the breakfast option, it was huge and very tasty!

Great value for money. Rooms were clean and comfortable beds. The family running the hostel were lovely and very helpful. Greeted us with a welcome cup of tea on arrival and organised a tuk tuk tour to see the ancient city. Would definitely recommend staying here!

Arachchi Heritage is an architectural marvel combining Sri Lankan tradition with a sleek, modern design and much attention to detail in a beautiful setting at the lake shore. With only 3 tastefully decorated rooms to rent it has a very private and exclusive feel to it. We loved relaxing in the open lounge area by the pool with a nice cup of tea or cold drinks. The hospitality of the owners and staff made it feel like a home away from home. The freshly made to order food was delicious.

We stayed just 2 Nights at Milan's little Oasis, but it was enough time to become good friends. Milan  spent a lot of effort to make our stay in Anuradhapura as comfortable and interesting as possible. His Garden in front of the lake is so beautiful. You can rent bicycles at his place and he will give you a map with many sightseeing options. The chef at his place is an amazing cook. My friend is vegan and he prepared us a delicious vegan dinner. He offered us an extra private tour by night, based on his favourite religious places in Anuradhapura, with a lot of information about its history and Buddhism.This tour was really unique and I highly recommend it. We had a wonderful stay with Janaka & his family in his home. They were very hospitable and welcoming, and it was great getting to know them. The room was simple and clean with a comfortable bed and good air-conditioning and fan. The breakfast was plentiful and tasty, with lovely fresh fruit each day. We could help ourselves to tea, coffee, and water all day. There is a nice, quiet lake a few minutes walk, and there were many different bird species there on the three times we visited it. The location of the room is outside the main part of Anuradhapura, which makes it a peaceful location out of the town, but the town and sites can be easily accessed by tuk-tuk. There are also small shops not far by foot, and in the afternoon the next door neighbour sells some small take-away snacks and tasty donuts! Thank you to Janaka and his lovely family!
