Beautiful surroundings and garden, our room was facing the garden and it was elegant and stylish, with a very comfortable bed. We liked the atmosphere and the person at the reception was friendly and welcoming. It’s only a few minutes from the township but removed from any noise and extremely peaceful and serene.

Great location. One of the nicest places I’ve stayed. Exceptionally helpful staff. I highly recommend. It comes with milk in the fridge and they will give you more if you need it. Great heat.

Damage to the path means its only a 15 minute walk to a view...

Damage to the path means its only a 15 minute walk to a view point now, but you are further away. The constant noise of helicopters means you aren't really going to see the birds or feel you are particularly close to nature. The walks and car parks are excellent. It's just a bit of a sausage factory in summer.

Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation near Franz Josef Glacier. Quiet, friendly and very relaxing. Beautiful setting with large grassy area to enjoy in good weather - good birdwatching when we were there! Very attentive and helpful manager. Laundry facilities were appreciated! Arrangements with local bars and restaurants to collect guests and return them to enjoy a few drinks!

Luxury accommodation in Franz Josef with easy access to the West Coast Wildlife Centre (kiwi) and Franz Josef glacier tours. The rooms are surrounded by the rain forest jungle on all sides. Good restaurant, friendly staff. Can recommend the 5-course dinner that can be nicely coupled with excellent NZ wines.

I wish I could give 6 or 7 stars if possible! We had an amazing stay. The house is beautiful, spacious, and comfortable, with a large living and dining area. The kitchen is super well-equipped. In addition to air conditioning, the wood fireplace and electric blankets on each bed kept us very warm during the cold days. The location is quiet yet conveniently close to Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier. We would definitely love to come back!

The Alpine Glacier Hotel was clean and comfortable for our family of four. The receptionist was very lovely and helpful with any of our requests. The motel was a good distance from local stores and restaurants such as Snake Bite Brewery and The Landing and the tourist attractions such as Franz Josef Glaciers and the Fox Glaciers, not too far if you have a car.
