Beautifully appointed rooms, spotlessly clean. Great view of the Hagia Sofia from my window, which was about 30m away from the hotel. Staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb!

We liked everything about this place. Great service, breakfast, location, staff, hotel manager. Beautiful view at the roof terrace (suggested for Instagram influencers). All landmarks and historical places in the old town are walking distance. Hotel manager Mr. Mehmet was very attentive and asked for constant feedback everyday to check if anything can be improved with our stay, made suggestions for our visit in the old town. He really took care of our group and their needs closely.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at this hotel! The location was perfect, offering great rest even though in the heart of the old city and easy access to nearby attractions. The food was quite good, with a wide variety of options to cater to different tastes. The staff was exceptional, always going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Speaking of cleanliness, the hotel was impeccably maintained throughout our stay. It was evident that great care was taken to keep everything spotless and in top-notch condition. As a family with a baby, we were delighted to find that the hotel was extremely baby-friendly. They provided us with all the necessary amenities and even went the extra mile to make our little one feel special. In particular, I would like to commend a lady named Seda. She was incredibly helpful and provided us with valuable information about the local area and attractions. Seda also took the time to play with our baby, which made our stay even more enjoyable. Her kindness and attentiveness truly made a difference and left a lasting impression on us. Overall, I can confidently say that our experience at this hotel was outstanding. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a fantastic location, exceptional staff, cleanliness, and a warm, baby-friendly environment.

Hagia Sophia

In 537 AD, Hagia Sophia began life as a church, before becoming an Ottoman mosque in 1453. The largest cathedral in the world for almost a thousand years, this majestic building is considered one of the finest surviving examples of Byzantine architecture. Today, you can explore its vast structure from the inside with a visit to the museum that’s now housed within the walls.

Sadly tourists can only go around the upper level.

Sadly tourists can only go around the upper level. Previously you could get in on the ground floor and experience the wonderful open space of the huge dome above you. It is still possible to see some of the dome and the structure is very interesting but a slight disappointment. However , it is an amazing old structure. Small number of mosaics still visible. Better and more extensive mosaics at the Kariye Camii if mosaics are of interest.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul.

This was the most incredible part of Istanbul. Again ensure proper attire or you have to pay for covering. The interplay of Christianity and the Muslim faith, and neither chose to desicrate the other. Just be aware that you will only be able to visit the upper section unless you're a practising muslim.

Its a pity that such an UNESCO monument was turned into a Muslim Cami. And it is discrimination that all non Muslims cannot visit the whole area. As a Greek and orthodox I felt very sorry of the destructions of all the inside ( almost). This should be a museum open for all ,independent on their beliefs. Civilization is not looking into beliefs. Should be respected within centuries.

    Oh, what a delight.

Oh, what a delight. I’m an open minded Christian so I appreciate such a wonderful and special place is still in place. You have to admitted if it wasn’t the Muslims it (probably) shared the fate of Acropolis. Is a wonder it does not crumble during times. Really. I was not able to take two straight pictures in a row, such a marvel of architecture is it, patch after patch. Is not the Pantheon, is not Basilica di San Pietro, but is still there. I also have to appreciate they respect the history and prior faith and do not cover part of the old (Christinas) paintings.

The history is stunning and the main room is beautiful as well as the mosaics. However, I was underwhelmed considering they now charge to go in and you cannot go on the main floor (a result of it being turned into a mosque). Also the carpet choice doesn't help with the overall site. I think the other mosques were better. Also, there are LONG queues to buy a ticket and then queues to go in. I would recommend going to the Hagia Sophia experience museum (across the Obelisk) and buy tickets there.

Insanely long lines deterred us, although you can take great shot elsewhere. Whether you are a man or woman, you need to cover up. Ladies with shawl, long sleeves, and down to ankles. Men with pants and at least a t-shirt (no tank tops). Otherwise, no entry.

The hotel has a great location — the metro station, shops, and restaurants are all nearby. It’s also within walking distance of the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, which is very convenient for sightseeing. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need, and the place is very clean. I especially liked the beautiful sink and shower in the bathroom — they look stylish and modern.

We stayed at the hotel in September for four nights, two adults and a child. Our room was on the second floor. The room was nicely located, quite quiet. The staff at reception are really very friendly. There were a lot of shops nearby, but they were overpriced. 10 minutes walk to Hagia Sophia. But while you're walking, everyone will persistently invite you to their cafe. Overall, I wouldn't call the hotel comfortable, especially for a family, but it's fine for a couple of nights.

Everything was great. New apartment, new bed, fully equipped kitchen. Location is very close to transportation, Sultanahmet, Hagia Sophia Mosque, Gulhane Park, Topkapi Palace. The staff comes to the apartment immediately when you send a message. If there is any problem, I think it's a good place for families who want to stay for a long night, and the price is reasonable. I will come again. Anna Vorontsova

We had a wonderful stay at Magnaura Palace Hotel! The location is unbeatable — just a short walk from Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, and Topkapı Palace, yet tucked away enough to feel peaceful and cozy. The rooms are charming and comfortable; One of the highlights was the terrace view — watching over Istanbul’s historic skyline was magical. The staff was warm, attentive, and always ready to help with suggestions or arrangements.

Pros: * Location is perfect - walkable to Taksim, Eminonu, Karaköy, Hagia Sophia. Easy to get to from the airport via a short walk from Haliç station. Halkbank is round the corner for fee free ATM withdrawals. The apartment/hotel is in sort of a industrial supplies district which was fine by me (but just an fyi) * All of the guys at reception are very helpful and polite * We got upgraded for our stay, our apartment was a good size for two, nice enough bathroom.

The hotel is in a perfect location just a short walk from major attractions like the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, and the Grand Bazaar, making it very convenient for sightseeing. The staff were extremely friendly and supportive. Although there were some language barriers, they made every effort to assist us even using translators when needed which we really appreciated.
