We took the local train from Taipei (NOT the HSR, which stops at a different location) & arrived at Taichung station, just a 15min walk to hotel. From Sparrow, we could get around easily to Second market, Yisheng night market, Taichung Park, Taichung meatball restaurant and Suncake museum. Staff were patient & kind. Good air con, universal electric plug in the room. Location was just a short Uber trip to Lalaport and Miyahara ice cream. Taichung park is just accross the hotel. Starbucks is in the little (super little) shopping mall within the same building as the hotel. Staffs spoke decent English.
